I turned 70 in January and have been homeless for 5 years. . THAT really sucks and I hope that I can get housed for awhile before my passing away, whenever that might be. . But I am extremely poor, and am on disability, and though the U.S. govt… read more

I love you buddy and keep that chin up one day at a time. I just got my 8th month chip AGAIN on Monday…..Hopefully I do it right this time. Much love ❤️ 23speds

Extremely, highly, very much so true.

I am on SSI disability income as well & my biggest fear at the moment is I'm not going to be able to afford to stay alive because I'm not going to be able to afford food anymore at all if Trump's tariffs keep piling up to where prices for food skyrocket.

and that, my friend, is why Canada and Nova Scotia are really looking like better places to retire than what the cesspool at 2600 Pennsylvania Ave could possibly dream of. Unfortunately, even though our financial standing has greatly improved of late, it's still nowhere near enough to escape this hellhole that not only is it being turned into, so many irrational people support and turn a blind eye to at the same time. I wish some good news would finally come our way, sh*t is starting to get scary.

To your question, the only way I cope and feel ok is not to think about what I'm missing. Every month, it seems like a new ailment is diagnosed in our bodies. Our disorders are just what we have to bear. That's how I see it. I have read of people who seem to cope well, all things considered. Wish I were one of them.
It's like deafness I deal with, you lack your hearing, but that is all. You have everything else. You can't only look at what you lack.

I never feel lonely, yet I think I probably am. I keep myself pretty busy & well insulated

The only reason I am not homeless is that I now live in an income-based apartment. I've been here since 2018, I think. I was on a waitlist for 2 years+. It was very lucky for me. I once said that if I became homeless, I would kill myself, as I lack street smarts, and I'm not sure I would survive. BUT, I also said that about divorce, and 22 years later, I'm still here.
