I don't want to sound ungrateful but I dont ask for things at Christmas. I usually just get myself what I want. For years probably at five now. Gift giving has always been disastrous in my family. Everyone leaves the room wondering if this is their real family, or if they'd been abducted by look-alike imposters. I'm sure the looks on our faces during unwrapping are priceless...
That said, we've developed a sense of humor about it, take pictures of us and our ridiculous new possessions, and trade with each other if possible. Returns and thrift shop donations are inevitable.
