I have persistent depressive disorder and major depressive disorder. For close to 2 years I’ve been treatment resistant. I struggle with getting out of bed, with motivation and get emotionally and physically fatigued after an hour or so of activity. Does anyone else battle with this?

Daily life is exhausting. I've learned how to use dissociation to escape participating consciously in routine tasks. When I imagine myself in Fiji or the Bahamas, it can be so real that I get uncomfortably warm and have to remove a sweater or two.

If I didn't have a strong imagination, the tedium of my days would crush me, Jennifer.

Baby steps it's all you can do. Every day give yourself one task even if it's just brushing your teeth or a quick shower. I'm battling the same thing and it totally sucks. If I can't do it then I just try the next day, just don't give up. Pull it from deep inside your soul.. you got this!

Yes and sometimes I avoid interaction with others all together. I have to self talk by saying stuff like "you just have to push through" "you have to function". Try and switch your mindset to anything positive in your life. It redirects your brain to the positive side, which also can assist in physical health and motivation.

Just like any other indeterminate storm, I wait until it's over and hope there's no damage
