I have heard that there is no 'cure' or remission of the Schizo-Effective part of the Disorder. It's just with you now. I was once diagnosed with it. Everybody' is different where help and treatment is concerned. There may be a good med out there for the 'stress' part of it but the traumatic part you may have to go deep on that part. Not just positive talk, group therapy, writing in a journal which are all very good, but with the trauma you probably need to go deeper. If you're in 'the pit' you need someone to go in there with you! Not just try to talk you out but down in there with you. You could try a PsycoAnalyst. There are alot of things to try. I'm just suggesting from experience. I had found a PsychoAnalyst who said she would have to go down in the pit to connect with me. I never got that chance as I couldn't afford it. I had no insurance or a job at the time, I wish I could remember her name.
