Anyone Else Have Moderate To Severe GI Problems With Taking Celexa?
Gi problems are awful hope it getting something done about.
Your the best judge of your health. Also the best to know he e to stay proactively healthy. YOU yes You.
I didn't with celexa, it gives me the least side effects of the meds in its category. But gi issues are fairly common with it, especially as you start taking it. The general advice is that if it is when you are just starting, try to start at a low dose and increase as tolerated, and to just hang on for the first few weeks as they may be rough. If you've been on it for a while and still having issues, then it depends how bad they are versus how much good you get from taking it, but it might be time to start talking about trying a different med instead.
I did have gi issues with both zoloft and Paxil, which are in the same drug category as celexa. Zoloft gave me terrible heartburn (I've never had heartburn before or since.) I tried to see if that would subside as my body got used to the med, but it did not, so I switched to something else. Paxil gave me such severe side effects when I started it, some of which were gi related, that I only took it for a week. The doctor tried to convince me to keep taking it to see if the side effects would get better, or to try a lower dose, and I said nope nope.
