Everyone knows my dad got his wings Saturday morning. But I need help and advice. It has been 4 days now and it hasn't hit me yet! I can't grieve until it does. I need help badly. Has this happened to anyone else? Could it be he wanted no service?
D it will hit you. Hopefully it will hit you peacefully and you will remember the good times. That's what he would have wanted. Don't worry about it D. Don't put added stress on you that doesn't need to be. You'll be okay. I'm here for you. When it does hit.
Deb, it will eventually hit you. Just try to remember the good times you had with him, and allow yourself to grieve when it hits. It’s different for everyone.
Some churches hold grief classes. You could check around on that
Oh hun, I"m so so sorry..... One thing I found that helped me, when my Dad died..... is I wrote a letter to him.... I think it was about 6 pages long. Telling him how much I loved him, and sharing the memories that I will always hold close in my heart. I sent the letter with him, when he was cremated, and kept a copy for myself. He passed away, suddenly in 2009, and I miss him dearly still. He was the only man I could truly ever count on. I didn't always like what he said or did, but he was there for me. Every now and then, I see someone that reminds me of him, and I smile, and I miss him again..... But you shared a bond...... and you will grieve in your own way. There's no right or wrong way or specific time to grieve. And neither of my parents had services. You will find closure in your own way, and time.... Sending you hugs....
