Try to focus on the morning nature, listen to the sound of outside. Begin talking to god having conversation with him
Welcome Pat. Hope your day went well Hugs George
I try to focus my attention on something. I'll watch TV or get lost in some music. Also I try to do breathing exercises that I learned in the psych hospital.
Thanks! I am indeed working with my CBT therapist on my anxiety as well as my depression, which seem to go hand-in-hand.
A lot of it has to do with my mental preparation the night before, or lack there of. If I am prepared for dealing with anxiety the next morning, I try to think the night before of positive reasons to get up and get going regardless of the anxiety. Mostly, it is an issue if I have to get up really early which is only 2 days a week, and how it messes with my AM routine. Anxiety has a purpose, but for my condition, it can be really bad. Most times I just don't want to go, but most times I go anyway and find I'm okay once I arrive and get busy. If you have a therapist, get them to give you Cognitive Behavioral Therapy tools to deal with anxiety.
