Does Depression Ever Really End?
I was diagnosed about 15 years ago and each episode gets worse. I'm in therapy, taking meds; in short I'm working very hard, but still struggling. Recently I heard that someone in their mid seventies took their own life. I'm 59 and terrified that I'll be struggling forever. Depression is such a dark place to live.
Anti-depressants used to work for me, but they don’t anymore and I don’t know why. I start ketamine IV treatment this November, I’m hoping that’s going to help.
I’ve had depression since the age of 18 and left it untreated until 4 years ago which is when my life was spinning out of control and I decided that I need help
@A MyDepressionTeam Member Hmmmm I've been "at this thing" for 40 years. Scratch that 41 this August 23. Yes to me at least it seems like a struggle "forever" But it probably depends on what your diagnosis is. I'd ask your doctor what he/she thinks. Each episode is worse though? That's sad. I would say each episode is different. Definately different. Depression is a dark place but that's when I call my doctor and tell him I can't take it anymore. I'lll be interested to see what others think. You can also post your question under Q & A. Annie
