I've a few friends who text me every few months saying "haven't heard from you in ages, we should meet up" they tell me in detail what's been going on in their lives, but when we try to meet up they always say they got dates mixed up or cancel with a poor excuse.. I don't understand why they do this? We only live half an hour from each other, do they just want a text friend? I'd rather she didn't text at all if we're never going to meet up in person, it's infuriating. Thanks for any answers… read more
Unfortunately it's part of modern life, I've found. Everyone is so busy and wrapped up in themselves, and in a way modern technology with smart phones and texting makes it worse. People figure that texting counts as keeping in touch. Maybe it's the best that some people can do. I don't know. But I like the old days better, when you actually had to call people and talk to them. And you actually saw people in person more often. I was born too late
@A MyDepressionTeam Member, I'm gonna tell you the truth, and I don't care who hears it because it's the truth. I was in a 12 step program, and i developed some very close friends and a lot of friendly acquaintances. When i got sick, and almost died, they were GONE.
Except 2, and now im
down to one. So yeah, i know exactly how you feel, and I am so sorry they treated you that way. Just remember,
It's not about you, it's about them, and they fucking suck!!!🤨🤨😥
I too have friends that text all the time. They dont call anybody. I like to call and also meet up. But people or some friends just keep contact by text and there’s no real relationship going on.
Tell her to go to hell? No, bad "joke", Angie . .
I would suspect there's some mental health stuff goin' on there, so I would consider the source, amiga . .
Paz y amor,
Samuelito . .
@A MyDepressionTeam Member Hmmm I don't have any friends like that. And I guess that is a good thing. Maybe the next time they text....say I'd really rather meet in person and talk. I was thinking you were talking to these friends but it's worse than that! No I would definitely call them the next time and say let's get together! The world in a text....ugh...Good luck!
