Members responded to a question about finding effective medications for severe anxiety alongside bipolar disorder, sharing personal experiences with options like Klonopin, Cymbalta, Venlafaxine, and Risperdal. Several members emphasized the importance of giving medications enough time to work before switching, while also encouraging the original poster to advocate for a change if something clearly isn't helping. A recurring theme was the value of open communication with doctors, with one member even mentioning a genetic test that helped identify the right medication category after years of ineffective treatment.

You have to give your meds time to work and there are several different kinds and several different combinations that they can try but you have to let yours take time to work 😀Nicole

Very hard to say. Need to be assessed. Just because you started taking a med and it isn't working with in the first few weeks don't stop and try something else. I was doing that and I stayed on a med that my doc prescribed and been few months now and it's getting me somewhere
