When feeling numb, is it common to want to do something just to feel? Like drink, have sex or sometimes create physical pain to not feel the emotional pain?

I have been doing stupid stuff like piercing my own ears, since I was a teen. Had more relationships than I should. But once I got my first baby, I have been to scared to do the things I did out of fear of leaving my kids without a mother. So do I sometimes feel numb... Yes... But now I just sleep it off, listen to music or just let myself cry.

I know I have walked down a lot of self destructive paths in order to not feel something. Sometimes not even aware until it is brought to my attention. In my experience, the temporary distraction never lasts and usually end up making my situation worse. If I notice something is up or I am using poor coping skills I usually try to bring it up with my therapist to get some perspective or journal to see if I can find out the root of the problem. Its not fun, but it helps me. Hang in there, stay safe!

I do meth and get my rush 5hay way . I 8sed to self harm just to feel anything cauz I was numb inside n out but as I got 9ldee I started drinking n.doing blo now I just smokemeth and inject on occasion I used todoxouple shots a day. I'm on anti depressiants I dont cry as as
Much as b4 but I'm always lonley inside since I can. Remenbbwt . Lonli was is an awful feeling
Thank god for drugs lol and the occasional sexy company

When i feel numb i cause myself physical β€œpain” just so i know this is real and so i can feel something other than emptiness inside.
