How Do You Sleep/rest When The Nightmares Keep You Awake
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

as I close my eyes to sleep, I am woken with nightmares of horrors I don't want to either relive or EVER go through. and even when I wake up, sometimes in pain. I struggle to slip back into REM because I don't want to relive my past. through every dream or nightmare comes the idea of poetry that scares me into wanting to die.

what do I do?!

it's the only drug I know that works out of all the ones I'm on. I also swear by it. I'm glad I'm not the only one that takes it.

I have ptsd and get nightmares. I use trazadone to get to sleep. I always get nightmares when im too hot so i always sleep with the fan or AC on it helps me. Also when you wake up from a dream drinking water to rehydrate yourself seems help me snap out of it

Sterling11. hi. I used to have really bad nightmares and they put me on a pill called prazosin. they give it to PTSD patients that have been thru war and it helped get rid of there nightmares. I'm on 2 st bed and I dont dream at all. well maybe every 6 months I may have something pop in my head but nothing bad. you should really talk to your dr about it. it may not work for everyone but for me I swear by it. I hope this helps a little. I
