How Do You Find A New Path?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

At the age of 32 I find myself at a crossroads. I am unhappy (miserable really) in my career, my friends are no longer people I feel like being around, habits and activities I used to do (some unhealthy) no longer interest me and I’m struggleing to find a new path. Any suggestions?

Thanks Ladies :)

it has been a gradual change and definitely has to do with growing as a person. In the last year I started eating healthier, working out, and taking better care of myself. I am in a happy and loving relationship I just seem to have out grown many things I once found enjoyable my job included. I made a call to my therapist today, sometimes I find it hard to know what is depression, what is maybe amplified through the lens of mental health and what is actual real growth, or maybe a combination of all. Mental health comes with such blurred lines sometimes.

Oh if you feel lonely and empty inside, time for counselling and get it all out, and maybe have your drugs increased or changed. Your worth more!!

Have you thought you have grown out of them, and see this as a new beginning. Is there anything that you used to enjoy doing but because of your previous job you couldn't do anymore. More relaxing, ect, go to your college and sign up to a course you fancy doing. Or at least go to your college and just visit, and get a book on what they have availible. Or join the parish council, or round table , or volunteer at your local hospital. You will meet a different type of people, and make new friends.

It sounds like you're maybe sliding deeper into depression. Can you see your Dr. Or therapist for help? Maybe looking into finding a new career path. Try to see it as a journey. Good luck!☺
