I mean is there really an underlined answer as to why we suffer from major depression? For the most part it does not seem that anything I do is right or if it is right no one really cares. I try to make people around me happy but it's like everything else unless it is something someone else wants it don't matter what I do it's never good enough. I am just wondering do we every really get better or do we just give up? I have ran into a serious problem lately, if I am not sick, my anxiety is so… read more

When I was in my late twenties and thirties, I also was told and believed that it my depression would get better with age. I don't agree with that. I always maintained before and had a good job, could keep it for years, a home, that I didn't burden on my brother and daughters to let me stay/spend the night with them. Never imagined. 45 still trying minute by minute. Prayer by prayer. He has me here for a lesson and a reason.

It's not your responsibility to make others happy. You have to take care of yourself first. Try to get to the doctor for meds. I find talking with a therapist to air out my thoughts can help. I wonder all the time where this is all going and when will this crazy ride finish!!

Thank you all for your views, I have been dealing with this mental depression since 1997 and I know that medication helps me out a lot, but I have also filed for my disability so therefore I am not working. I have no income which makes it extremely difficult for me to make appointments, because I have to get a ride. I just don't know how much more I can handle it is really wearing me down. I am gonna try a little longer and pray to God that something changes.

I handled life better after months of daily outpatient treatment, I never got myself 100% back. I'm having a relapse now 6 years later. Honestly, I don't think we ever get better, but it can get better with lots of effort. Is it worth it? That's an answer only you can decide. For me I have days where , no its not worth it.
Typing from my cell sorry about the errors.

I'm sorry you're going through that. I totally understand though. I feel the same almost every day
