Not telling

why do cuts always hurt more later that night or the next day? Its a pretty stupid question from someone thats been cutting for so long. I asked someone before and they said it was from it knocking against my clothes but i dont know. just wondering

I have been self mutilating for over 18 years. I cut on my left arm, leg and stomach. I find they hurt more later too. I think there are two reasons why....the chemicals to protect your body from feeling pain wears off and after I do it I am so overwhelmed by guilt and shame that I feel the pain. Message me if you want...if you want to talk because it helps knowing there are others out there who do it and understand.

Your body produces chemicals that helps you not feel the pain. When these start to wear off, the pain starts.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member I cut yesterday. It really didn't make me feel better. I didn't even feel guilt just wanted to do it again.

I really didnt feel the pain much at all when I cut. It was always when I took a shower that they started hurting.
