I have been in and out of Depression since 1990; recently I was diagnosed with Anxiety also. I am very good at knowing when I need help whether a med increase or change, someone to talk to or more. So I am struggling with knowing if the way I feel is the Depression or if it is Anxiety. Luckily I have an AMAZING Psychiatrist that I have been seeing every 2-8 weeks for 13 years and he knows that I am good at helping myself!! He changed my doses today and added Xanax 3x/day because I am not able to… read more

Anxiety can cause depression.
Also, you may want to ask your therapist to take you off the short acting ( and extremely addictive) Xanax and either put you on the new, longer acting Xanax or Klonopin ( also long acting). Please! Xanax is very dangerous and most doctors refuse to prescribe it now. I became suicidal when I was taking it.
