Alex it is important that you stay on the clonazapam as your doctor has prescribed. Have you followed up with a regular doctor visit about this. An ER doctor can only prescribe for so long. If the Zoloft hasn't kicked in, neither has the clonazapam. If you wish to wean yourself off because of paranoia, you are most likely having panick attacks still. Do as the doctor says. I don't believe you will develop that much of a dependency on such a small dose in a weeks time. Please, please, please see a follow up doctor about your medication. The Zoloft takes a while to get into your system and it is not an addictive substance. Please be careful and follow up with a doctor who knows these drugs!

I have been taking clonazepam for over 8 years. Depending on my medications, I take between 0 - 4 a day. I can stop anytime WITHOUT any withdrawal.

I hope this helps. Be well.

It appears you already understand benzo withdrawal first hand. Sounds like you have been on it only a short time, this time. If I were in that position, I would slowly cut as much as possible, paying attention to my body and adjusting. Hope you are able to get through it with minimal pain.

Hi Alex! Your GP doesn't know this medicines like a psychiatrist or a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. That is who should oversee the Zoloft and Clonazepam. A general practitioner is not trained to handle specialties such as mental health. I let my GP prescribe many years ago and it was devastating to say the least. Right now I have a Nurse Practitioner dealing with those particular drugs and I feel safe. Plus we have a rapar. This helps tremendously. Good luck my friend Alex!
