For over a year now my sleep pattern has been annoying. I can not stay awake past 8 p.m. and wake up at 4 to 5 a.m. and feel exhausted all day. I try taking a afternoon nap to help me stay up past 8 p.m. and it does not help. On my days off I can spend the whole day sleeping and not getting things done or getting out of the house. I did not these problem before and it seems to have gotten this way in the past year or so. I do not know what to do. I have talked to the doctor and have tried what he recommends but does not help. I am 52 yrs. Old and still want to enjoy life but can't due to feeling tired all the time.

I was recently diagnosed with IBS...being in and on the "throne" like that can be, and is, exhausting...draining. YEARS, and FINALLY maybe have a diagnosis, and meds, that'll help? Hope so.

I'd swear it was your thyroid. The same thing happened to me and the doctor put me on medication. I'm feeling much better now. Good luck.

I have test done, the Doctor told me that its chronic fatigue caused by my depression which I have been struggling with for years. But do have the necessary test to rule out any medical condition.
