Hi,
I have used various SSRIs over the last ten years none of them helping much, after suffering heavily with insomnia which really made my depression a lot worse I started using Mirtazapine 30mg which has been a God send for sleep and feeling more relaxed, my psychiatrist mentioned he wanted to add Quetiapine next time I see him.

Quintipine causes me a lot of problems
I don't know why the bad press but I do know from personal experience that it is sedating especially at high doses. I've been on it for many many years. I've know that it is also given at Nursing Homes as a sedative with low doses (to help with insomnia). Sort of like using a sledgehammer for putting a picture on the wall. Always checkout any new medication added onto your regime.
Quetiapine has gotten a lot of bad press over the years. Does anyone know the reason why?
I’ve been on seroquel for quite a few years and it made me gain a lot of weight but it has helped me so much I keep on taking it anyway
