We just sold our house - downsized. It was soooo therapeutic to get rid of ALL excess stuff. Less truly is more. I kept family heirlooms - a rocking chair, a kitchen hutch. But the rest of the 'stuff' was NEED - bed, night table, dressers, etc. Then I got rid of sooooo much clothes. Kept timeless items only and the rest went either to goodwill or sold some and made extra ca$h. No more nic-nacs and clutter. First time in my life. Love it.

Yes... What @A MyDepressionTeam Member said. I have watched a show on TV regarding helping hoarders to clear out things. BTW most of us, if not all, have things to be free of clutter They taught and ASSISTED. key word here is assisted. One does not get rid of someone's things without owners consent. That only leads to replacing them therefore back in said dilemma. They would make 3 piles. Keep, discard and donate, as in what Lisa stated. The results were amazing transformed dwellings and healing from how lives, not just theirs, but for others who had to deal or not deal with this issue.

Hi Barbara.....
Many thanks for your reply.
Yes I think I have to agree with you. My daughter has also left home and I also haven't been in a relationship in a long time and all my stuff is definitely holding me back.
Wish I could take that big step to chuck it all!!
