I am consumed with fears of death and dying. I know I have no control over this, but how can I overcome? Has anyone out there been through this?
I know how you feel Tania I fear it myself. I had five people die on me last year and I had to be there for two of the deaths and watching people die is B horrible. Try to keep yourself busy and try to enjoy or be in the moment. Do you meditate or do exercise. I know I sound like your mother but it does help. No it wont take our fears away but every bit helps. I go to the movies or read anything to keep yourself going and even enjoying a little moment. I hope that helps.
Death is inevitable, and no matter what we do, we will all end up at the same destination. The sooner you accept this truth, the better. No amount of fear or anxiety can change the future. It's easier said than done, but try to push this fear back. Focus on enjoying your life right now rather than what comes after.
I think at times think of death because I am living with 2 brain aneurysms, so I review it often to think if I have done enough, have I treated people the best that I can-and so on. But I went through the why me, and so on. And now I am thankful for a beautiful day, for my grandchildren when they are with me, spending the night-for the opportunity for me to get to know them and vise versa. I try to reach out and help people, and I try to love life every day, and to be thankful for each day you do have.
I am a Christian so I started reading the bible and discussing things with my priest. The other thing I did was to list all the positive experiences I have had over my life. Finally I came to the conclusion there is nothing I could do about it and I try not to live in the future.
Thankyou Tania, my cousin also died 5 days after my aunt, and my daughters mother-in- law died suddenly the same week.. I just got overwhelmed by anxiety symptoms...x
