In the UK, I was just wondering if it is true or not that an AMHP (CPN) with the Community Drug and Alcohol team, can section you? this question is not because of a concern of being sectioned, it's more a general question because he previously suggested he could if he felt the need, anybody have any experience with this or any professionals out there who know the answer to this question?
I tried that but wikipedia seemed to lack information on the conditions imposed, perhaps I miss read, because of concentration issues, yet another reason to need to get hold of my psychiatrist for a med review, as I'm lacking concentration as my Ritalin is just not doing a good enough job at the minute x
Hi Stumpy, the answer you got from Helen was pretty much what I read when I looked up AMHP on Wikipedia.
Haha actually I got the answer I needed from a retired Mental Health Professional/Occupational Therapist, here on mydepressionteam.com :) I asked Helen, https://www.mydepressionteam.com/users/HelenEli... and it was as I suspected, it's a no, an AMHP can section but only when accompanied by a Psychiatrist :)
That's what I thought. You should research that Act, there's should be some provision to contest any actions. I know your laws are a bit different but surely there's something to do! 😊
Sectioning, is being detained in hospital under the Mental Health Act :)
