A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

I personally don't know how to follow this advice at the moment because I can't think of anything that I enjoy doing or that makes me happy.

Bake a cake with a close friend, or counsellor/support worker who I trust, who help to make even washing dishes fun.

Colour in a colouring book, any, not just adult ones, some of the children's ones bring a smile to my face and are less challenging to colour.

Turn on my coloured mood lights, lava lamps etc, watching them always makes me feel better.

Playing with a yoyo, this may seem childish and silly, but it is a great happy activity that provides a good distraction that isn't too time consuming.

Water colour painting, or sketching can be very therapeutic, and help me to feel happy and relaxed, it's best in a well lit room during daylight.

Going out and taking beautiful photos at the park, river etc.

Going to a counselling session offloading/venting my feelings to someone who understands, and possibly getting comfort/a hug from my counsellor at the end of the session always helps me to feel happy, and gives me inner strength.

It's difficult for me as most of my life revolved round drink and drugs, raves, clubs, football, darts. So now i don't do drink or do drugs i have had to find new things to enjoy. So now i read, meditate, write play football and watch debates and comedy but i'm looking for something that excites me the old stuff used to. It's an ongoing search!
