Depression And Anti-psychotic Medication
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

Is anyone else out there taking anti-depressant medication as well as an anti-psychotic medication? I am taking Prozac 40 mg and Abilify 4mg and seem to be doing really well with this combination.

I also take antidepressants and anti psychotics. I think most people with bipolar end up with this type of combo. I used to take abilify and did really well for years but am now on seroquel. I like the seroquel but it does tend to make battling weight gain tough. If it is working well that's great!!! I think I have tried every medication in existence lol but thankfully what I have right now works. I am really glad yours is working for you!

I take an antidepressant and an antipsychotic med. It seems to help real well with stabilizing my mood. The trick, don't run out of meds like I have because you crash very quickly.

I'm taking Prozac 20 and recently put on Latuda. Latuda is a fairly new antipsychotic and is very expensive. I'm on disability and have Medicare and the script cost me out of pocket 415.00 a month. I can't really tell a big difference yet, and may not as I'm not sure I can afford too.
