I'm on 300 mg effexor daily have been for at least 9 years. No weight gain, but I'm sure I'm ready for a med change.

I was on venlafaxine 225 mg/day and dropped over 14 lb in weight over a year.

I have been on Effexor for years. It makes my depression manageable but I still have bad episodes with my depression. I’m also on Wellbutrin and Buspar and klonopin. I live alone and rarely go out except doctor appointments and the grocery store. But I am so tired of being sad all the time. I wish it would go away. I had a bad episode last week. I didn’t get out of bed till 4:00 in the afternoon. I feel better now. I actually got out of my apartment to the basement of my apartment complex and washed and dried my clothes. I just wish there was something to take to prevent these bad episodes.

I have a problem with ambition. Indecisive and forgetful. Been on 75mg for a yr. It helps with anxiety but depression I still have ups and downs every month.

I am also on 300mg Effexor and have slowly gained weight over the years, but I was also diagnosed with Hypothyroidism a few years ago which can also cause weight gain---I had no idea I had it. Worth the check.
