I am in the medical field and I have seen so many doctors that work for a pay check and not there for the patients. I believe that they don't know what we are really going through.
Yes, Darcy, absolutely! My primary care doctor is excellent and gave me a thorough screening, including SI, which I "passed" the screening at the time. Please, Darcy, make sure you tell your primary, who will definitely point you in the right direction. I'm confident and make sure to please keep your loved ones--and us--up to date.
Yes! Tell your primary care doctor too. If you're having suicidal thoughts—especially with a plan or intent—don't try to white-knuckle it alone.
If your brain is telling you to suffer in silence, that's your cue to do the exact opposite.
Call your psychiatrist, therapist, PCP, a trusted friend, 988, 911, or head to the nearest ER. Just tell someone.
Depression is a terrible life coach and an even worse fortune teller. It will confidently tell you things that simply aren't true.
The most important thing to remember: suicidal thoughts are a symptom, not a prediction. Feelings change, situations change, and help works—but only if you let people know you need it.
Hope this helps!

Feeling better. I'm flying to AZ tomorrow in which I have a therapist there & appt on Thursday; a psy NP too and my appt. with him is on Friday morning.
Hi Darcy, I say go get all the help you can get right now . . I don't even have a psychiatrist right now, though, because I owe him so can't see 'im . . I get my antidepressants through my PCP . . You may want to see if you can talk to your PCP about what's goin' on with your psychiatrist and you in order to get some third party professional perspective . . It seems like a really tough situation and I will continue to send you my peace, love, and good vibes. . Please keep reaching out here on MDT . .
