💝 Long story short, when I was little, my fear manifested as squirrel-sounding voices that made fun of me from the top of the refrigerator and from a particular bend in a particular road we traveled frequently.

I never told anyone about them, and no one else seemed bothered by them, so I learned to ignore them and they went away.

I couldn't eat chickpeas for years because Mom used to store bags of them on top of the fridge. Strange, what the mind will do when stressed. ❤️‍🩹

Are you wondering if the voices you hear might actually be real?

It's completely understandable to question whether what you're experiencing is real or not. This confusion is actually quite common when dealing with auditory experiences.

A MyDepressionTeam member shared a similar struggle, asking: "Can you tell if you're in a delusion? I truly believe that my family and friends are working with the shadows that are trying to hurt me, but I also get the feeling that maybe it's not completely true and I don't know what to think."

This uncertainty about what's real can be really distressing. If you're hearing voices, it's important to talk with a mental health professional who can help you understand what you're experiencing and provide appropriate support. They can work with you to determine what's happening and develop strategies to help you feel more grounded.

You're not alone in questioning these experiences, and reaching out like you're doing now is a brave step toward getting clarity and support.
