2 and a half years ago. My initial depression assessment (PHQ-9) scored a 21. I "graduated" at 1. The depression had gone into nearly 100% total remission for the longest time. But, good things don't always last. While I have had many external stressors over the last 10 months, and I've been coping as best i can, every once in a while I get downright funky.

Now the not-so-good news: that's just me that I know it's helped. All of our brains are physiologically the same, but our brain chemistry and neuronal activities are as individual to each if us as our fingerprints. There's no way to determine or guarantee any good results. I'm not saying it's a crapshoot, but if your options are getting limited and TMS is available for you, it's a matter of doing what you can. Some people it helps immensely, some enough so they can cope better with daily struggles and exist instead of fighting to survive. Sadly, there are some who received no benefits.

In a bit more detail, it's one hell of a commitment: 5 days a week for usually 6-7 weeks. It's not painful or uncomfortable, but you might develop a slight and brief headache. You will receive regular assessments to log any changes/improvements. Session times are dependent on severity of depression. You will be monitored and hopefully well-supported throughout and follow ups.

Sorry if I rambled on a bit, but I wanted you to be informed of the potential realities of treatment outcomes and what you'll be doing. Good news is advances in TMS technology is always ongoing and whatever system you are assigned could work better than what I had done.

Me? I'm damn glad I did, because I probably would be around otherwise.

Best wishes and feel free to ask anything!!!

Peace and hugs 🫂 🤗 🧡

I had TMS. It has helped tremendously. I haven't been depressed for a year and a half.
