I was on factor for 10 years and recently in the past six months I’ve been on Wellbutrin. I’m not a doctor but personally I just don’t think it’s a good idea. Maybe too much dopamine.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member There are no known bad interactions between those two pills. Just watch your intake of grapefruit juice as it can cause medicines to be more potent in your system.

Wellbutrin is an SSRI so only deals with serotonin whether you are not making or receiving enough. It has the added benefit of helping with nicotine addiction. Also as @A MyDepressionTeam Member pointed out Lexapro is an SSRI

Effexor is classified as an SNRI and does serotonin as well but also norepinephrine which is another feel-good chemical so can help you turn those frowns upside down just by having more energy and the chemical making/being accepted. The norepinephrine part can help with focus especially in those with ADD as well.
Also, @A MyDepressionTeam Member noted Pristiq is an SNRI.

Sometimes it takes a few pills as you progress with the disease to balance out well.

So an SSRI/SNRI is not uncommon. My current ones are Cymbalta (SNRI)/ Remron (SSRI) :) Hope that helps explain and gain some understanding in what your Doctor is seeing in you to suggest that combo in your treatment.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member Did the doctor who prescribed it to you know you were taking the Effexor? Lots of anti-depressants can be taken at the same time. Depends on the depression. For example I take Lexapro, Prestiq at the same time, Depends on the doctor. Wellbutrin is a great anti-depressant btw.
