II have anger issues and I cannot get any help. My doctor tells me there's no more medications to try. He won't refer me to a psychiatrist. I tried to find a psychiatrist on my own by going through my insurance website and on my own most of them won't take me because my primary care physician. Isn't with their clinics. Their clinics that aren't taking new patients. My anger is getting worse and worse. I am not sure if this is part of depression or something new. It is to the point that I cannot… read more

I am concerned that a primary care physician would prescribe medication that should be prescribed by a mental health professional. If he won't refer you to a psychiatrist, see if there's a nurse practitioner or another doctor in the practice that can. If not, report him to your insurance and the hospital he is associated with. Although he thinks he has tried all the medications available, I sincerely doubt that a mental health professional wouldn't be able to help you. Keep trying!

I know how you feel so much, but I know you can get through it. I try counting sometimes it helps deep breaths. But I also take 2 different meds for my depression and anger issues. I know I'm not much help but I'm thinking about you because I know how frustrating it is. Your friend shirl3

Hi Sandy,
Around here there are groups that help people deal with anger issues .
See if you can find anything like that near you. ..
Anger, I have heard, is s secondary emotion which has its roots in underlying depression and anxiety. . .
I also have an anger problem and it is rooted, I am sure, in the depression and anxiety that result from the physical trauma, i.e. abuse I suffered as a child. .
I would not think that you would need a psychologist, necessarily, to help you with your anger but that a good Masters level therapist would suffice. . . Did you suffer from trauma of some kind in childhood? . . If so, look for a therapist traIned in trauma therapy, I would say. . Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. .
Peace and love,
Cool Cat . .

Yes call 988 is you need to. I used to have anger issues really bad. I started to really talk to myself and tell myself that there's no reason to have this anger. I would figure out what's causing the anger, if I could and get myself at a safe level and take a shower or go for a walk. Walking really helped me. Maybe you need a new doctor if he's not even going to refer you to a psychologist. That's unreasonable. I don't understand that at all.
