They help my anxiety. I was on Benzos & opiates for 18 years, I have been off everything for over 2 years. But I took up smoking & it helps me.
I smoke more when I'm anxious. One after another sometimes. I really need to quit, but it's the only crutch I have left. I quit drinking 24 years ago and recently quit opiates and marijuana. I'm just not ready to quit smoking yet.
Yes. It for sure does. I worked as a CASAC. A certified substance abuse counselor. Not only is it addictive it does increase anxiety and down the line depression is worse as well. Best wishes in quitting. I gave it up cold turkey with no trouble.
I have never smoked and I would the cigarette would increase your anxiety
Chrissy--according to medical studies and science we have learned that smoking leads to serious anxiety, and can be highly addictive and may lead to your untimely early death honey. You think it helps you as a former smoker I know the games that smoking plays with our heads. It will be a detriment to you in the long run. And all the practical things about smoking too. Nobody liked the smell of my clothes when I smoked, my hair smelled horrible and my fingers turned yellow and my teeth too. My family stopped wanting to be around me because they said I smelled so bad. I was only able to date smokers as non smokers were not able to kiss me my breath was so horrid. Best of luck to you.
