I belong to a gym and have made several friends. We all encourage each other. If you are over 65, your insurance may cover it. Mine does. It’s called Silver Sneakers. As much as I dislike doing the exercise, I always feel great when I’m done. To lose weight, you really have to cut your food intake. A doctor told me it’s like 90 percent food intake and 10 percent exercise. But exercise will make you feel good and prolong your life. Good luck.

Like you David, no motivation. At 58 and weighing approximately 145 all my doctors continue to tell me to get exercise. Yesterday my 9 yr old granson was here and wanted me to race down hallway with him, at first I said no. But then he said if ya love me grandma you will; yes I do believe that was wispered in his ear. So I did and yes my oldest son video taped it. Was all I could do to get back. Yes I highly need exercise for muscle tone to move. Like to walk but really not alone. Will try my willpower!

@A MyDepressionTeam Member yeah, I got 3 friends in a workout group to be accountabiility partners. I am doing better and, yes, must force myself to be as consistent as taking my meds.

You got to force yourself each day until you don't have to force yourself, you just do it. I still force myself, I have to make myself.

Keep trying, make yourself work out even if you don't want to. Keep trying and if there are times you don't make it, don't beet yourself up over it. Just try again the next day.
