Ketamine Infusion Therapy?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question πŸ’

Has anyone tried ketamine infusion therapy for your depression? I've looked into it, discovered it's not covered by health insurance, but HSA/FSA eligible. It's also expensive. Is it worth it?

It's great you're looking into alternatives, I don't like SSRIs. Personal question, and if you don't feel comfortable answering, that's totally fine. Have you gotten a DNA test to see if it will be effective for you? In Colorado Ketamine is accepted by Medicaid. I was going to look into it, but I took a DNA test that shows what meds work for me and what don't and found out Ketamine wouldn't be safe. Also found out the 2 meds I've tried for my depression, Zoloft was dangerous for me and Wellbutrin didn't do anything... But I already knew that about those two. Can't brag enough about that DNA test. It did wonders for me. Now if something happens to me, and I'm unable to respond, I made sure my PCP has it. But anyways, I'm looking into microdosing psilocybin since it's safe for me. I hope you're doing okay today.

I have done the GeneSight test, and mu psychiatrist has it on record. When I saw her the other day and expressed my desire to try ketamine therapy, she really didn't give an answer one way or another, but said it was up to me. The medication switch was based on the results of the GeneSight. Not like I'm running out of options, but something has got to work.

I'm sorry but I've never heard of this. Good luck in your quest for knowledge on the subject. Lacey sounds like she knows what she talking about. I hope that helped. Good luck with the search. I'll be thinking of you.
