Hi everyone . I was put on <a href="/treatments/remeron">Remeron</a> in 2019 along with <a href="/treatments/klonopin">klonopin</a> by my psychiatrist . )I haven’t had luck with SSRIs) it worked for over a year , but my anxiety was still bad so my doctor added gabapentin and then wanted me to wean off <a href="/treatments/klonopin">klonopin</a> . I finally did back in October and I was only taking it for emergencies . I felt great . He said he thinks I have bipolar disorder . He put me on a low low dose of Seroquel but I felt so great I didn’t want to mess anything up . Some traumatic things happened this year and my anxiety got really bad. Then I finally started to balance out with my anxiety , but I have terrible depression now. My doctor doesn’t want to increase my <a href="/treatments/remeron">Remeron</a> because in higher doses it stops helping you sleep. He really wants and encourages me to start taking Seroquel . I think I will start this Friday night . Im so scared . I keep looking at the side effects :( and I know I’m not supposed to do that. Does anyone have any positive experiences they would like to share ? Please , no horror stories ! Or negative stories ! Thank you

@A MyDepressionTeam Member thank you 🙏🏼 and you’re absolutely right they have to list every side effect and sometimes it’s not even a real side effect from the medication :( I decided against it for now because I am also taking gabapentin and <a href="/treatments/remeron">Remeron</a> which are both sedating as well .

@A MyDepressionTeam Member Sejla Wow aren't you glad you asked this question? For some of us this is a long arduous journey(me-40 years) so everyone has different opinions based on their experiences. I've only been diagnosed as bi-polar for 30 years but I had extensive experience in Mental Health the previous 10 years. If you are still trying to wrap your head around being bipolar take the time...after awhile it'll make sense. I have to admit though I never really have paid attention to side effects unless I think I am experiencing them. And that's probably a good thing. I trust my doctor too. Not that you don't trust your doctor but again it's got to do with time spent with the doctor. I have had my doctor for 30 years (since diagnosis). The main thing about being bipolar is the highs and lows. For me it is mostly lows with an occasional high(say once or twice a year). The highs and lows can be very dangerous either way. I am currently recovering from being extremely depressed. It took 2 changes to medicine to stop the depression. I am very grateful to my doctor. Well I hope this helps. Good luck tomorrow. ive been on serqual for almost 2 years now and i have had no problems with drozziness and it does not effect my sleep, i take 150 mg at 5 every evening and i feel find, maybe if you took it at a different time, re supper time u wouldnt feel so tired , just a thought, give the drug a chance it really helped stablize my mood and make for a much better ealthier days for me

@A MyDepressionTeam Member. The lamotragine seems to be working well. It does what it says it keeps me from going too far down. Ive had ECT several times. It worked for a while then i started feeling the black cloud rolling in and my dr would start using medications again. Round and round. Many people find doing only one course of ECT works , so dont let my experience scare you . ECT can be a game changer for you. Keep in touch.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member im on lamotragine (lamctal) for mood stablizer. It has made a difference for me. I hadnt known that my Seraqual can also act as a mood stablizer. Thanks tor the info.
