I've had anxiety all my life so I know a bunch of things you can do.Some may or may not work, everyone's different. 1) Breathing techniques. Deep breath in through your nose for 5 seconds, hold for 5 seconds, and out through your mouth for 5 seconds.Do this 3 times. 2) Grounding techniques. Name 3 things you can see, 3 things you can smell, and 3 things you can feel. (It brings you back into the moment,as not to let your racing thoughts take over.) 3) Count by 3s for as long as you can or until you settle. 4) Take a walk, Sometimes the fresh air will change up your mood. 5) If you feel up to it,take a shower. 6) Listen to music. 7) ( my favorite) Get into a good series on TV. It's a great distraction. And 8) Which probably should've been Number 1,if you're prescribed a benzodiazepene( Clonopin,Valium,Ativan,Xanax) definitely take one. There's probably alot more things you can do,those are just the ones that help me. Hope this helps. Hang in there. I know anxiety feels awful as it's happening, but remember eventually it does pass. Good luck.
Not silly at all. May you keep those thoughts all the time to keep you going.
I know it sounds silly but when I feel a panic attack it help if I start singing my favorite music
