How Do I Get Back To Me?
Hello,
I’ve dealt with depression since I was 14 years old. I’m now 38 years old and I’m dealing with the worst depression symptoms I’ve ever experienced. I never been this depressed before or suicidal, but I’ve been suicidal multiple times this year. I just got divorced 12/18/20 from my husband of 13 years who I’d been with for 15 years. That’s what’s lead to the severity of my depression. I didn’t want the divorce and it was quite ugly. I’m now living alone and I hate it. I lost my job due to… read more
update" so far my husband has taken 6 spravato treatments. And at number 5, he has begun to notice some difference, a good difference.
The insurance wants him to take 8 and then 1 time a week for four weeks. And if they work they are worth the hassle. Let me warn you ahead of time.they are not always pleasant. The first is given nasal spray, it doesn't affect you much as far as emotions go. In 10 minutes you have another one. You begin to have alot of disassociation . Then you have another one that lasts30 minutes. Sometimes, not all the time you have a lot of disassociation. Then you have to set an hour to make sure you don't have any bad effects and to keep check on your blood pressure. But, my husband says everyone effects you in some different way. They are a 100% better than ECT. There is a program Jansen Care Path that will help pay for your copay that the insurance doesn't cover. So you shouldn't have any expense with the office visit or the co pay for the medicine. This takes awhile to set up.I have spent hours trying to keep things straight just about with everything. So make sure you are dealing with someone who knows what is going on.
There are special clinics, spravato clinics and that is all they do. So, you should be with professionals.
I will keep you updated. Don't ever give up hope. As long as you are alive you have a chance to recover. AS long as we have Jesus there is always hope.
The ketamine treatments didn't work, but he was switched to spray to treatments. This is number four. He says he is a little better. But they also switched him to symbyax. Its expensive but it can be written a different way and its cheap.
There are no quick fixes for depression. Sometimes God seems so far away especially in depression. It is easy to believe He doesn't care. But, whenever everyone else leaves, He will stay. Don't give up. You are going through some terrible times and things that are making it worse. My own opinion is, who wouldn't be depression after a painful divorce? Its alright to be lonely and afraid plus depressed. Don't wait before getting help.
Don't wait to get help. Medications and therapy. Do you journal? Its a very good way to help your mind to be easier. Journal whether you want to or not. Even just a word or two. If you are suicidal, get help RIGHT now. I waited too long and tried to kill myself. Are you seeing a doctor now?
In times like you are going through, we don't believe and can't see that this will get better. Sometimes we can't see past the moment.
I was in a very dark place last year in dealing with a derp depression and major anxiety. I went to the doctor ad he upped my medication and tgattruly helped. I also started reading inspirational stories about people just like us and how they learned to love themselves. Remember you are worthy of peace, love and joy. I will be praying for you
