When You Feel Depressed, Who Do You Go To Discuss Your Feelings?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been seeing this one doctor but I am not satisfied on his treatment. At the facility I am in, I want to open up but have fear of being ridiculed and sometimes people do not understand what depression really is all about. In my childhood I suffered and my family yelled at me to snap out of it.

You have the right to demand another doctor. You do not have to go to anyone that you are not comfortable with. Try talking to him and maybe you might become more comfortable, maybe not. But part of your treatment is communicating. Even if you still are uncomfortable with him you will get started on your communication skills.

Go slowly and when and if you feel comfortable then you can and will open up at your own pace.

Yes. It's not easy to express my deepest feelings, fears, sorrows. I'm not sure what to speak up on??
I can tell others to believe in the Lord, he is the source of my true Hope👋☮️

If you can make friends work on that. If not you have us. We are good people.
