I totally agree! We have to stop putting others first and help ourselves!

Ignore these people. Do what you feel is right for you. I know I'm much better since I've started medication and therapy. I didn't even know how bad I was until I started treatment.

As others have said Pamela, just ignore them because they do not understand what it is like to have depression or any mental illness for that matter. You must do what is right for you because you are the only one who knows what is right for you and also as others have said you must put yourself first. Stay strong Pamela and only do what you know to be the right thing for you. Lots of hugs coming your way and remember that we on MDT are here for you.

People doesn't understand what it's like to have a mental illiness, when they say it's all in your head that there's nothing wrong with you you just need to stop being self centered, just be happy, we have to learn to take care of our selves and we need therphists, p-docs, we need medication to help us.cope with what we have. All you can do is explain to them that you have a problem and you need help taken care of it. But no matter what you need to do what's best for you.
