Before my dad and mom's death I suffered from depression but meds helped, now I just want it all to end. I haven't been happy or been able to find joy in anything. I've lost all motivation for life. Is Adderall the answer? How do I get my Dr to prescribe it to me? I was told that I couldn't take my Xanax if I took Adderall. Is this true. Please help me to know the correct way to go about this. Also I just moved to another city and am waiting to see my new provider.
I get it prescribed for a sleep disorder. I never heard of it being prescribed to help with depression, although it very well might. This may be the same thing as being prescribed an amphetamine just to feel good. I don't really think a physician worth his salt would prescribe it just for this reason. For one he has to have a legitimate reason to prescribe it for the record in case the DEA checks his records. Also the insurance companies need to authorize the reason. It's very tricky. ADHD or a sleep problem may be the only way to get it. But I would research it througholy and discuss it honestly with my Dr.
Adderall is supposed to be for Attention Deficit Disorder. It's supposed to help people concentrate. I tried to get it and my doctor said that I'm not working or going to school so I really don't need it and he wouldn't prescribe it because it can be addicting. But, I've never heard of it being used for depression. I think it would help me though. Because whenever I've taken it, I had more energy and could focus on things. In addition to suffering from depression and anxiety I also have ADD, but I'm not being treated for it.
I super feel that aderall helps w depression. Gets me motivated and moving instead of being stuck on the couch in a numb state. I wish the Drs would see that its not only for ADD.
go and see your doctor and you might have to see a psyciatrist and they will diagnose you properly and find what antidepressants will work for you, you may have to try a few different ones before you find one that works,it took a few before i found one which helps me
Bring it up at your next Drs visit An talk it over with him or her. It’s a team effort
