Hi everyone,
I'm new to the group. Can someone give me advice in finding a psychiatrist who specializes in dysthymia? I've been depressed since Jr High School and I get worse every year (I'm 39 years old).
My regular psychiatrist keeps putting me on SSRIs which aren't working. I want a doctor with expertise in chronic low grade depression.
Thanks!
PJ
Just a thought. Maybe a psychiatrist working thru a university med center or hospital would be more open to other medications or treatments.
Will do. I found a couple who are listed in research studies but not sure if they actually see patients.
Let me know how it works out.
Great idea! I'm in Chicago so there's several medical schools/hospitals nearby.
