Hey everyone. I'm new, just joined. I've been feeling depressed ever since my dad died 4 years ago, I wasn't even 18 yet.. it's not just sadness, it's anger, panic, anxiety, mood swings, insomnia, pain, helplessness and even more things. How do I know if it's actually depression? Do I go to the doctor? What questions do I ask? I don't want to seem weak and silly. Luckily my husband is very supportive, and he knows what I'm going through. I hope someone can answer this for me?

Go to your doctor or find you a good psychiatrist. Just because you are in the care of a psychiatrist does not mean you are are crazy. I have been seeing one for twenty five years and I would not trust any other dr to treat my depression. Tell the doctor everything you are feeling. Be totally honest with the doctor. Make a list if you have to. You need to do this soon. You might even get some counseling. If you do this It may take a few weeks but I believe you"ll be feeling better before you know it. Thank God for a supportive husband. You are in my prayers.
Thank you Kirk, I'll do that :)
