I would ask the Dr. that prescribed it to you what symptom(s) they are targeting.

My doctor over here wont peescribe it for me . I have tried it before , a family member gave it to me and it was the only thing that ever worked on me but im not allowed it and i cant get any . It kept me instantly calm and took away my anxiety

Another of the same family of drugs, Oxazepam, is what I took for years. For me it was simply to target anxiety attacks but I sometimes cheated and took it to ensure a good night's sleep. Diazepam is the generic name for Valium and was one of the earliest meds of its kind. Every drug company had their own version of it. Most drugs ending with "pam" are among these. I rarely take it now but it was very useful when I needed it.
