I too lost my family because of my depression. My lids ended up in fostercare. I thought the pain would never end. I had to go on without them in my life. I have been alone every since.
But, they have been keeping tabs on me. Sometimes they will talk to me, then long periods of time will pass before they come around again.
I had to go on, make something of my life.
I joined NAMI.
It's a non-profit organization that that helps families and people who have a mental illness.
I decided to learn all i could about this illness i have. That was in 1999. I have gained knowledge i share with people everyday. I learned so much about myself. That the road didn't stop because they left my life. It stopped because i had a problem that i didn't take care of. There is alot you can do and you have to do it everyday. Yes, the medicine worked for you for a while, but you expected it to do it all.
Medication is but a very small part of the world of mental illness as we know it.
Do you know your triggers?
Do you have an emergency plan?
Who are your support people?
You NEED support to live a decent life with a mental illness.

Look up NAMI in your state.
NAMI stands for "National Alliance on mental illness"
They also offer you the opportunity to mentor others who need help.
Also, keep talking here, we can share knowledge and care about you.
Be well my friend.
I am no expert on divorce or separation.
Before my wife and I were married i was having an extremely bad day and she told me i was getting help or there wouldn't be a marriage.
I would suggest that if you really love your wife and children, and it really sounds like you do, why don't you consider a temporary separation? Would she go for that while you get some help and try to get things stabilized again?
Praying for the best for you.
Unfortunately it has gone to far I have done nothing but push her away and live in my own bubble I would give anything to turn the clock back and be the man I want to be and she needed me to be but she no longer wants that so I am out on my own to face these horrible demons
