Can Anyone Tell Me How Effective Venlafaxine(Effexor) Is At Treating Depression/Anxiety?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am considering asking the GP to prescribe me Venlafaxine. Can anyone tell me the efficacy and side effects of this particular drug? The combination of Sertraline&Mirtazapine do not seem to be working for me.

Honey I'm on Effixor. I haven't had any side effects. I've been on it 5 years now. Honey you can't go by other people's side effects. Everyone's side effects are different. I hope I'm not crossing over the line. If I am I'm truly sorry. Start keeping a journal on everything so down the line you'll have it at your finger tips. You can even use the journal to see what triggers you panic attacks or makes you more depressed.
I'm here if you ever need to talk.

I have been on 225mg of Effoxer XL a day for several years. My only side effect is lightheadedness if I miss 2 or 3 days in a row. It has worked great for me. Don't stop taking it cold turkey. I quit taking it last year due to insurance issues and I became suicidal and overdosed on OTC sleeping pills. Please take them as prescribed. Hope this helps!! 😁

We are here for you honey. If you need me just leave me a message and as soon as I get it I'll get right back to you.
By the way the Effixor is more then likely going to make you alittle sleepy. It does to me. I had to end up taking it at night because of that reason. Because driving on. If push comes to shove take it at night.
Please remember we're here if and when you need us and feel free to give us your advice.

@A MyDepressionTeam Member, thank you kindly for your lovely message😘
It doesn't seem like Effexor would suit me to be honest so I am trying Fluoxetine I have been taking it for over a month now it appears to be helping although I still have slight memory loss and if my brain goes in overload it shuts down and I go into a dream like state which can be scary! I don't sleep very well either and have put on weight! Due to the fact I now have a gum infection I don't want to eat much so in some way it's good lol
The thing is I lost my friends back home due to things that happened between me and my ex partner☹ so i only have 2 friends back at home in Dorset and my partner and her family but they dont really understand☹
I also have a friend who I speak to privately from here and she has been extremely supportive but lives in America☹
Thank you I really appreciate what you said about putting out a hand of friendship and want you to know I am here if you need me too❤
