Ive taken adderall for 3 years. Im weaning off of it slowly. Its great in the beginning. But overall it has made my anxiety worse. It might be ok for you, but Im having a hard time going off it.

Hi Tracy, have antidepressants helped you? My psychiatrist gave me the Adderal in hopes it would help me with motivation. I think he figured that if I could get my ass moving I may feel better. I am on 15mg of the extended release but can't say I've noticed any more ambition. I'm kinda sad about it because I was hoping it would help... I am not giving up on it yet tho... gotta try whatever I can.

I was recently prescribed Adderal and am getting used to it. I've tried almost all the antidepressants and they just didn't work. My new psychiatrist said I was on way to many seratonins and was experiencing "searstonin storms" where I was not remembering lots of blanked out days. I agreed! I had many episodes that I have had to ask someone what I did... it sucked. Let me know if anyone else had experienced that!!

I've tried SSRI's with side effects being insomnia, like eight hours a week of sleep. In the last year, depression has progressed to Major Depressive Order. I take Ritalin now and it helps. Had to quit drinking coffee, but worth it. @A MyDepressionTeam Member

Idk if they will prescribe for depression but it does help alot of the symptoms we suffer from depression.. I hope you get to try it.
