I experience a lot of those same symptoms, I have multiple diagnoses, including Bipolar 1. Perhaps, this may be presumptuous, but your description sounds a bit more like another of my ailments: Borderline Personality Disorder, similar to bipolar, but shorter mood swings, among other things . I'm basing that on your description of your mood swings, which seem sudden, like day to day or more frequently. Bipolar is usually diagnosed when the abnormal mood lasts at least a week or two. Usually when I'm manic (high), it's lasts awhile at least a week, and that's with medical intervention; and it is not at all possible for me to really feel bad about anything until I'm in my right mind. Then comes super depression. Anyway, there are different sub-types of bipolar and I'm not a doc (I just play one on the internet), so that would be the best way to know, but not even that is foolproof. Mental health diagnoses are sometimes, subjective, different docs sometimes come up with different diagnoses, but that would be your best bet.

Your symptoms sound like bipolar depression. Speak with your doctor as only he/she could diagnose.

ummm there is a test and it depends on the pattern you highs and lows indicate. if its sudden and can change rapidly it could be other disrders like borderline personality but the psychosis can be part of bi-polar though. Im not a professional if seeking help try to bring it up to whomever can help
