How Do I Feel Better About Someone Judging Me Over My Families Actions?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

Last Saturday my boyfriend was invited to a family function at my uncles house. My dad is an alcoholic which he was well aware of. But my dad got drunk and fell down infront of him. He is also a vegetarian and my family eats meat and he says he didn't fit in with my family and for those reasons he wants to break up. Then he changed his mind and says he needs a few days of space away from me because I come with my family and he needs some time to think about the relationship. I am feeling so… read more

A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does any one else get burst of sadness, let me explain. The day is as normal as can be, you're on schedule, everything is going your way, you're feeling great and positive that you'll end the day with a nice relaxing night, but then you start crying now you're confused because everything was going so good but why are you crying, the crying is uncontrollable now, and you start to over think everything, start to feel alone, and now you're just in bed crying because you have no more energy to get… read more

How Do You Start To Care About Yourself?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

How do you do it? I just don't care about myself. I know how to care for myself. I'm asking how to care ABOUT myself.

Everything I do is for someone else or because I'm "supposed" to do it but nothing that has to do with my own wants and needs seems important enough to me to prioritize.

I know logically that I'm supposed to care about myself. Care what I eat or how healthy I am but I just...don't.

How do I change this?

A MyDepressionTeam Member

Make a list of your good traits and how to maintain them. Do simple things for yourself inbetween doing stuff for others. Make a list of your needs and wants. Try to do something related to these each… read more

Suggestions For Naming A The Day I Lost My Son
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

For those who don’t know, I lost my son to anencephaly earlier this year. The day that we lost him is coming up in a few months, and Wife and I are wanting to come up with a name for the day we lost our son.

Seeing that I am an aethiest, I don’t want to call it Angel-versary.

I am wondering if anyone here has ever experienced loosing a son, and if so, what do you call the day? Or even if you haven’t lost someone, do you have a suggestion?

Thank you

How Do People Feel Beyond Their Current Mood?
A MyDepressionTeam Member asked a question 💭

One thing I struggle with immensely is being able to feel/see beyond my current mood.

If im depressed I can't imagine ever being happy again.

When I'm happy I can't imagine/understand what I was thinking when I was depressed.

I can't see out of it when I'm in it!

Do others feel like this? Can you see beyond your mood? If so how???
