My CBT Psychologist I saw for 8 weeks said, get a pretty DAB radio for the kitchen & bedroom - tune into Smooth FM when feeling low or ruminating, or intrusive thoughts.
Its great! Every song on Smooth is a 'smiler'! Impossible to feel unhappy while singing along, none of the melancholy or meaningful deep dark songs, or energetic ones I used to prefer on other radio channels.
XFM is good for when I need energy and to leave the house!
Anything by Ed Sheeran in the car seems to pick me up too - old favourite songs from my past dont - too often a memory and I dont like the repetitiveness of albums mostly.
Yep, listening to music definitely helps me when i'm really feeling down. I find it takes me to a better place in my mind, as for my top ten that's really difficult, anything from the 60's, 70's anything Mowtown, just lots of stuff :)
Listening to music is the best therapy ever!!
oh my GAWD, I have ALWAYS loved music since a little girl. It depends on what mood i'm in. It can be anything from soothing classical to calm me down, to Pantera , gangsta rap lol HEAPS of genres. But it ALL so helps. I love to sing too.
Hi again, depending on the time of day.
First thing in the morning I will choose something with a fast beat. Eye of the Tiger gets me ready for the battle ahead.
If it's the afternoon then it could be anything from Marilyn Manson, Aerosmith, Queen, etc.
Then in the evening it'll be something which will help me relax. This could be anything again.
