Seems to me having major depression has become quite fashionable. It's as if every other person who has ever felt sulky or sad purports to be suffering from depression. I had a friend who was depressed over a relationship breakup. When she started going on how she had depression and felt so sad I pointed out that she was indeed (and understandably) depressed but that was different to a diagnosis of depression she cracked the shits and stopped talking to me. The dark numb blackness of depression is so vastly different to being depressed but unfortunately most people don't understand unless they too have been to that dark place. There is a meme I saw that sums it up "telling someone with depression to cheer up is liking stabbing someone and telling them to stop bleeding- it does not work that way"
you know what annoys the hell out of me? People saying "think positively" or "life is what you make it" it makes me feel stabby, like wouldn't it be great if that were true, there'd be no *swear word* depression. If you don't understand, then say so.But DO NOT say those words to me, or you may just get bashed. Yeah i'm a dick sorry
I cant judge whats in anothers head or heart, maybe its in the eye of the beholder, jyst because ur not being medicated doesn't mean ur not depressed, my doctors trying really hard to keep me off of meds
