My psychiatrist wants me to see a psychologist, any experience any one?
I have one and she is awesome, I just walk into her office, it is very comfortable in there, and start talking about whatever, and when I am pretty much done, she helps me by having a perspective by listening to me, and offers good advice if I need it, she has never been wrong. it's like you have a paid friend, but they have gone through so much schooling, have Masters degrees and are very good to have. She asks me about things I have experienced in the past and asks how that is going, it's really like having a close friend you can talk to about anything.
I found an amazing one, but only after going through a few over the years.
Hard to find a good one. Group therapy worked good for me as long as I went. So many options it blows your.mind. Exercise, diet mindfulness, cognitive therapy and on and on. Takes a lot of energy which I lack.
A Psychiatrist is the person who works out the correct drugs for you & they are able to write the scripts. A Psychologist is not able to prescribe any medications... They are for talking with you about your issues etc and teaching coping skills and I have found that they are very useful. So One for the right Drugs and the other for working thru your issues. So together you get good help that works.
